Your Social Media and Visual

Brand Evaluation

Instagram: From your instagram, I think your brand colors are currently shades of hunter green, it looks like you have a logo, but I didn't see the logo on your website. You seem to specialize in portraits but I don't know where you are located or where you primarily work.

Most captions are very short or don't have any captions at all. This is a huge missing element in your marketing for connecting with potential clients and booking more photography gigs.

Website: I like your header image on your website but it doesn't showcase your work of any of the 3 specialties you offer in photography. If you could only do 1 kind of photography, what would it be? Show that. I would also recommend having the main image be a slider of images so you can showcase a few of your best.

The next line on your website should share the VALUE in what you offer. What problem do you solve? Why should someone hire you over someone else?

The social media buttons on your website don't lead to your social media. They all link to Wix.

Your current email is [email protected]. I recommend changing this to a professional email under your domain. The numbers and the "gmail" don't exude professionalism.

I love your story of being two friends who have created a business together. I think your image on your about me section is not helping your brand. Get professional headshots taken together (you can even swap services with another photographer in your area) and be sure the images of you both are high resolution. The image currently on your site is pixelated.

Blog: I don't see any blog posts. I recommend you begin blogging after we have our coaching calls and we can establish your key word phrases.

Facebook: I could not find a FB page for your business. Do you have one?

Pinterest: N/A

Summary + action steps:

  • Your biggest needs right now are to establish a clear visual brand. Decide on your colors, fonts, logo, and any other design related elements and then begin using those across ALL platforms so that your potential clients can begin to recognize your work and your brand.
  • You need to get professional headshots together and update your website with them ASAP.
  • Begin posting to instagram with thoughtful captions that express the WHY of your brand, and clearly show personality and passion.
  • Consider starting a blog to help get found on Google organically.
  • your "best friends" highlight on instagram is one of your best and most engaging. I would consider changing this to "behind the scenes" or "watch us work" or something more eye catching. I also think making some face-to-camera videos is going to really connect you with your audience and share your dynamic personalities as best friends. You could both get on and answer a few fun questions to help your viewers get to know you.
  • For portfolio expansion, consider partnering with a local wedding planner to plan a styled shoot so that you can get images without the pressure of the wedding day timeline and so that you can practice posing couples.

Remember, the more you post, in a consistent way, the more your audience becomes trained to see you working as photographers and will think of you FIRST when they need a photographer. Share the images you want to be known for.

Cheering for you!
